Nuclear Medicine Services

Audit includes:
- Quarterly review of nuclear medicine program in accordance with NRC, Agreement State
regulations, radioactive materials conditions, and applicable accreditation body standards and
guidelines(JCAHO,ACR, ACRP)
- Spot checks of required records
- Observations of clinical practices
- Radiation safety surveys
- Perform radioactive sealed source leak tests on applicable sources at the required intervals
- Perform annual dose calibrator accuracy test
- QC tests of applicable counters/scalers
- Image quality evaluation of gamma cameras including annual SPECT evaluation with Jaszczak phantom
- Radiation Safety Committee meeting attendance when coordinated with scheduled visit.


Survey reports include:
- Exit review with key personnel (when available)
- Report of findings and recommendations in concise and timely manner
- Certificates of results provided to meet regulatory and licensing requirements
- Guidance documents provided to assist with record-keeping process and
development of policies and procedures
- Use forms available

Other Services:
- Review of polices and procedures
- Assistance with annual review of Radiation Protection Program
- Review of personnel dosimetry records
- Assistance with quarterly and annual ALARA reviews
- Assist with radioactive materials license renewal applications and amendments
