Magnetic Resonance Imaging Services
1. Annual performance evaluations meeting the American College of Radiology Quality Control and Standards requirements including performance on all coils used clinically by the facility.

2. Initial technologist quality control training session to familiarize the technologist with daily and weekly QC tests including the establishment of baseline performance values.

3. Quarterly and/or semi-annual review of the MRI quality control program.

4. ASRT approved continuing education credits for radiologic technologists in the areas of MRI quality control and safety.

5. Annual/semi-annual performance testing on all RF coils to include signal-to-noise measurements, image intensity uniformity, percent signal ghosting, artifact evaluation, and center frequency measurements.

6. Annual/semi-annual magnetic resonance imaging performance evaluation including measurements for magnetic field homogeneity, slice thickness accuracy, high contrast spatial resolution, low contrast resolution, slice location accuracy, radiofrequency inter-slice interference, and monitor luminance.

7. Annual/semi-annual review of clinical imaging parameters to ensure that parameters continue to meet or exceed ACR recommendations.

8. Annual review of onsite MRI QC program.

9. Quarterly QC program reviews.

10. Acceptance testing in accordance with ACR, NEMA and AAPM established guidelines and procedures and equipment bid specification assistance for new MRI units or major component upgrades.

11. Assist with accreditation process (ACR) applications including phantom scanning and analysis and clinical image parameter review.

12. Notification of regulatory changes and/or updates.

13. Exit review with key personnel, when available.
