Job Description
Alliance Medical Physics, LLC is seeking an experienced ABR Certified Diagnostic/Nuclear Medical Physicist (DMP/NMP) for work in the southeastern US. The successful candidate will have an M.S. or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or related discipline and ABR certification in either Diagnostic Medical Physics or Nuclear Medical Physics or other board equivalent certification (i.e. ABMP or CHP). A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred. An ABR DMP or NMP board eligible candidate will also be considered. Position Description The DMP shall perform diagnostic medical physics equipment evaluations on radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment using film, DR or CR, film/screen mammography, FFDM, PACS, stereotactic breast biopsy units, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and industrial x-ray units. The NMP shall perform nuclear medical physics equipment evaluations on gamma cameras, PET units, and related nuclear medicine equipment as well as perform nuclear medicine audits. The DMP/NMP will also assist facilities with ACR modality accreditation. The DMP/NMP will prepare shielding designs, perform shielding integrities, and radiation scatter surveys for diagnostic imaging and/or nuclear medicine facilities. These duties may also include personnel, patient, and fetal dose evaluations and calculations. Presentation of training programs and RSO duties may also be involved. The duties of the DMP/NMP require travel throughout the southeastern US. Diagnostic and Nuclear Medical Physics services are provided to a broad scope of facilities that include the entire spectrum of diagnostic and nuclear medicine imaging equipment. Services are provided to free-standing imaging centers, community hospitals, regional medical centers, hospitals, healthcare systems, and some industrial clients. Alliance employs a team of 7 M.S. physicists (2 DMP/NMP and 3 DMP ABR certified), 2 B.S. physicists, 2 physicist assistants, and 7 office support staff. Support in obtaining required continuing education is provided to all physicists at Alliance. The successful candidate will have an M.S. or Ph.D. in Medical Physics from a CAMPEP accredited institution. Preferably, the candidate will have completed a CAMPEP approved diagnostic medical physics residency program. Position Description The Junior DMP shall perform the duties of a certified DMP under the supervision of five certified DMPs and prepare for board certification as a Diagnostic Medical Physicist. The Junior DMP will receive training in and perform diagnostic medical physics equipment evaluations on radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment using film, DR or CR, film/screen mammography, FFDM, PACS, stereotactic breast biopsy units, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and industrial x-ray units.
